Mazatlán, "México’s Pearl of the Pacific", is the gateway to the Sea of Cortés, the world’s largest natural aquarium.

World class, big game sport fishing awaits you, year round, and the name of this game is incredible billfishing.

Blue, black and striped marlin, cruise the deep blue waters offshore, as well as abundant & acrobatic Pacific sailfish, just waiting to be caught, tagged and released.

Plentiful tuna, wahoo, sea bass and dorado, also complete a fantastic day at the sea.
Reel in a big one and try to break the record set in 1980, when a 988-pound, 12-foot black marlin was caught!

Fishing seasons vary during the year and are as follows: you can catch tuna all year round; sailfish from March to December; swordfish and striped marlin from December to April; and dorado from March to December.

For a change of pace, tackle the nearby dams for the finest rainbow runners, snook and bass fishing anywhere.

Don’t miss México’s bass haven, world famous "Lago del Salto", stocked with native black and Florida black bass.

And after fishing, visit the tropical mangrove swamps and the shrimp farms, or try other activities like bird-watching, or admiring Mazatlán’s flora, where almost 130 different flower species have been classified!

Sail across the sea and reach one of Mazatlán’s three islands; there, you’ll find peaceful and quiet beach where you can practice snorkeling and scuba-diving,, or you can watch the sea lions while they sunbathe on the rocks, during season.

Charter fishing boats and other activities like surfing, parasailing and jet-skiing, can all be arranged for in your own hotel, at the beach or in any local Travel Agency.
